The Priciest Sneakers From The First Half Of 2018
The sneaker resale market has become a billion dollar industry. In the eyes of a Sneakerhead, the more your sneakers are worth, the more attention they are bound to receive. We may only be halfway through 2018, but there are already shoes out there that people have paid beaucoup bucks for. It’s hard to tell how much shoes go for by simply viewing their retail price, because once they hit the resale market, the price will skyrocket, making them even more rare. This week, we will explore how much people are actually paying for the priciest sneakers in 2018.
These shoes are especially sought after because they were made in honor of the Winter Olympics that took place in Seoul, South Korea. Jordan Brand wanted to commemorate this occasion by dropping a limited edition pair of Air Jordan IIIs. At first glance, you may think these shoes were inspired by the red, white, and blue flag of the United States, but they were actually inspired by the South Korean flag. They used the original white/cement colors from the Air Jordan III, but the tongue of the shoe resembles the flag of South Korea. This shoe came out in a very limited quantity and bigger sizes were nearly impossible to find.
The resale price of these sneakers is around $1,300. This is a huge jump from their original $200 price tag.
The Balenciaga Triple S is a shoe that most sneaker lovers will decide to either love or loathe. This shoe goes along perfectly with the dad shoe trend that most sneaker brands have been tapping into. This particular sneaker is quite bulky and will definitely get you noticed on the street or in a crowd. Although the original price was a high $800, they were still being purchased all over the world. Reselling these triple white sneakers is a sign that the resale market is at all all time high.
The resale price of these shoes was originally $800, the resale price for these shoes now is an astounding $1,350!
This is the second year Pharrell and Adidas have teamed up to make a shoe that is viewed as gold to resellers. These shoes are becoming harder and harder to get. The exclusive debut of this shoe happened in Pharrell’s hometown, Virginia Beach, Virginia. These shoes are a part of Pharrell’s line N*E*R*D, and were released in Creme, Pusha T’s sneaker store.
Because these shoes are so rare, their resale price skyrocketed from $240 to $2,100!
