New Year’s Resolutions For Sneakerheads
Just like the rest of the world, Sneakerheads are no strangers to New Year’s resolutions. Depending on your lifestyle, everyone will have different goals and achievements set for the upcoming year. Here are some attainable resolutions for Sneakerheads to shoot for in 2018:
Stray Out Of Your Comfort Zone
Craving adventure or wanting to travel the world is a common resolution, so why not apply this to your sneaker collection? For example, if you love buying your sneakers from Nike, try to switch it up a bit and throw some Adidas or New Balance shoes in the mix. This will bring new life and diversity to your collection.
Rock ‘Em, Don’t Stock ‘Em
If you’re feeling guilty about buying a vast amount of sneakers that you never wear, this is the year to give them up and shoot for wearable sneakers to add to your collection. Sneakers are meant to be worn - so show yours off! Rock your favorite pair so that other Sneakerheads can see your style. (This will also be an awesome conversation starter!) Even if a pair is extremely rare, take them out of their dark spot in the closet and give them life like you do with the rest of your shoes.
Set A Budget
If you are a true Sneakerhead, then you are familiar with the fact that collecting sneakers can be a very expensive hobby. In an era where social media plays a big part in influencing purchases, the pressure to keep up can be overwhelming. Set a budget for yourself and this will force you to only make the purchases that you really want. It’s okay to pass up a new release, especially when there are new products dropping as often as they do in this industry. A carefully chosen collection of sneakers is a lot more admirable than a mound of sneakers and no money in the bank.
Sell For A Fair Price
No Sneakerhead can deny the fact that the resell sneaker world can get very crazy at times. Always remember that there is a difference between doing someone a service and taking advantage of a situation. Some shoes have been known to sell for twice their retail price in a matter of hours, but do your fellow Sneakerheads a solid and charge them a fair price.
