Five Things Every Sneakerhead Should Do
Being in the Sneakerhead community is an awesome feeling because you all have something in common that you love and cherish - sneakers. But after all of the glitz and glamour, there are some everyday things that we believe every Sneakerhead would benefit from doing.
Make Your All-Time Favorites Your New “Everyday Pair”
If you are finally able to get your hands on that pair of sneakers you’ve been obsessing over since you were a kid, you may want to keep them in the safest place in your dark and secretive closet. But think of it like this… Why would you buy a Ferarri just to keep it in your garage all the time? You wouldn’t, of course! And if they are your all-time favorite pair of sneakers, then shouldn’t you wear them MORE than any other pair? Don’t be afraid to wear them, enjoy them, and make them your own. I’m willing to bet you won’t regret it.
Step Outside Your Comfort Zone When Buying Your Next Pair
Being narrow-minded when it comes to sneakers is never a good thing. There are so many options to choose from, new styles, and fashion trends that come out every single day. Take advantage of it and check out a website or brand that you don’t always go for. If you usually buy Converse Allstars and Vans, try some Jordans or Lebrons. Aim for something out of your “safe zone” and you might end up loving it a lot more than you think you will.
Wear Your Sneakers!
To the everyday person, this may seem like something that would be an obvious choice, but to Sneakerheads, sneakers can act as something “too special to actually wear.” But if you value them so much, then why not wear them for everyone to see? Run in your Adidas, shoot some hoops in your favorite Jordans, or hop on a skateboard in your Nike SBs. This will remind you what your obsession was actually made for doing. Show people what you’re proud of and be a little more carefree than normal. The results maybe give you even more joy than leaving them in a display case for you to ‘ooh’ and ‘ahh’ at.
Give Back To Those In Need
Let’s just be honest for a sec… you and I both probably have more sneakers than we actually need - or are ever going to wear for that matter. Forget about selling them on eBay or Facebook Marketplace, pass them along to someone who might really appreciate them or find a nonprofit that you can donate them to. Paying it forward and making a difference in the world will make you feel awesome, too!
Compliment Other Sneakerheads
Instead of making it a competition and trying to stack up against your fellow Sneakerheads, try giving them a compliment. As you may already know, there is no better feeling than someone admiring your kicks - especially a fellow Sneakerhead. So spread sneaker love like confetti and build the community up as often as you can.
