6 Reasons Why Sneakerheads Are So Obsessed With Sneakers
When asking a Sneakerhead why they love sneakers, you may find that every person has a different answer. When we think about the real reason we love sneakers, it goes beyond just the look and feel of a sneaker. There is an individualized reason for purchasing each and every pair of shoes. Here are 10 different reasons why Sneakerheads are so obsessed with sneakers and why they may purchase a certain pair.
Some Sneakerheads buy a certain brand or style of shoe over and over again because there is an emotional attachment or personal significance behind them. Whether it’s the first shoe you ever bought with your own money, the shoe you wore to your favorite pro sporting event, or the shoe you got married in, you can’t put a price on the memories you make in your favorite pairs of sneakers.
Having a pair of sneakers that only a limited number of people own is one of the best feelings a Sneakerhead can have. This is the sole reason why samples cost so much money. The more exclusive or limited a sneaker is, the higher chances it has to become more and more valuable. Even if a shoe is not your favorite color or style, you may want to buy it just because of the exclusivity.
Some pairs of sneakers have changed the entire history of sneaker culture forever. When you think of a sneaker that has historical significance, you may think of the first pair of Converse All Stars, an exclusive pair of Air Jordans, or your favorite model of Yeezys. Everyone has a different reason for becoming a crazed sneaker fanatic. Many Sneakerheads feel the need to have at least one pair of sneakers in their collection that has history behind it.
Personal Color Preference
Everyone has a favorite color, right? I think it’s safe to say that your color preferences are likely to shine through in your sneaker purchases. You may buy a certain pair of shoes just because the color catches your eye and you know you can rock it with the dominant colors in your wardrobe. Or you may be a die hard sports fan, and that may also sway your decision.
Because social media has become so popular, people are exposed to many different high resolution, sharpened photos of shoes that have just become available to the public. Being a Sneakerhead, the more we see a sneaker, the more we want it in our collection. People are willing to do some crazy things when it comes to the release of a brand new shoe on the market.
It’s Your Style
Loving a sneaker’s features at first sight should be the ultimate reason that you buy it. Everyone has their own unique sense of style, and just because it may not be sought after by millions or over $300 doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t buy it! Everyone’s collections are different and that’s what makes us individuals in the Sneakerhead community.
